Eight ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals have earned either a 5-star rating or a 4-star rating from the 2026 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating. The national average among all rated hospitals is three stars.
All ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals have earned , which upholds regulatory requirements for hospitals, such as US Government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), and provides guidance and best practices for clinical specialty organizations across healthcare.

Healthgrades has given 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Awards to five ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals, putting them in the top 10% nationwide for patient safety.

In addition to receiving Patient Safety Excellence Awards, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Virginia Beach General Hospital received an America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgery Award from Healthgrades, and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Williamsburg Regional Medical Center and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Martha Jefferson Hospital received Outstanding Patient Experience Awards.

Through the work of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½’s Diversity & Inclusion department, all of our hospitals have received the High Performer designation for 2026 from the Human Rights Campaign, a nationwide organization working to achieve quality and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community.

Eight ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Hospitals received an “A” grade in The Leapfrog Group’s Spring 2026 Safety Grades, achieving recognition for providing safe, exceptional patient care. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Leigh Hospital and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ CarePlex Hospital were two of just 11 U.S. hospitals with 28 consecutive “A”s from Leapfrog.
11 ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals earned an "A" grade for social responsibility on the 2026-27 Lown Institute Hospitals Index. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ was also recognized for outstanding social responsibility and ranked in the top 10 in the nation for patient outcomes.

Eleven ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals have earned Magnet Recognition Program designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Four hospitals have earned Magnet with Distinction, which recognizes organizations that exceed Magnet’s already rigorous performance benchmarks.

Additionally, five ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals have earned recognition in Newsweek's Best-in-State Hospitals 2025 rankings, highlighting the leading hospitals in every state.

U.S. News & World Report has ranked ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals in multiple “Best Hospital” categories, and received recognition as “High Performing” in several specialties, procedures, and conditions. 

In 2025, six ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals were named among the nation's best for high-quality labor and delivery services for uncomplicated pregnancies. In addition, four ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ hospitals were named Maternity Access Hospitals, which recognizes hospitals that provide maternity care services in areas that would otherwise have none.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has consistently earned recognition from U.S. News for more than 20 consecutive years.
